If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, a holiday that combines learning the talents of its locals, and the combined experience and tuition from a full time art teacher, then this experience is for you!

The West Coast offers the artist in us many things; birds and flowers, odd boulders and strange secluded bays, towns with whitewashed fishermen's cottages and immaculate barren beaches – all these elements provide the West Coast with an atmosphere of mystery and tranquility.

Paternoster in particular, with its eccentric character and vibrant people, and offers the creative eye a multitude of riches.

You will receive tuition in drawing and creating on location – basics, techniques and tricks that artists use. Learn to correctly observe movement and colour to create good drawings and paintings. Local artists will teach you their trade and you will make no less than three paintings, a sculpture and numerous drawings.

We visit many beaches and selected sights to further your skill at proportioning, observation and tonal rendering. A pottery session and a figure drawing session with local artists is also included. Have lunches and dinners at amazing eateries and soak up the West Coast landscape, its cuisine and its people, learn to cook with a pro and kayak with the penguins.

You will visit Tietiesbaai, Jacobsbaai, Langebaan, Saldanha Bay (draw boats in the harbour from the quayside!) and go on a boat ride. You can also visit Brittany Bay, Darling and the West Coast National Park. You will also have time to explore and relax by yourself.
